The City is looking to lease 2 properties on the north side of the CP tracks on Ross Street for public uses (parking, etc.), one of which may be for a staging area for the future construction of the Ross Street Underpass. Other considerations include dedication and rights-of-ways from other properties which are required for the underpass. Because the lease is for more than 5 years an Alternative Approval Process (AAP) is being undertaken by the City. This means that if more than 10% of the electorate signs a petition against the lease then it will not happen, at least not without a Referendum.
