Salmon Arm Fire Department

The Salmon Fire Department responds to fire calls in an 80 square km area using four strategically located fire halls. The fire fighting staff is comprised of paid on call members and an administrative staff of three officers and a secretary. The Department also dispatches several fire departments in the Columbia Shuswap Regional City from the Alberta border to the North Shuswap.

 

 

 



 

Mandate

  • The Department has four fire halls managed by paid on-call firefighters and an administration staff of four. The complement of firefighting vehicles includes one 55 foot aerial ladder, four pumpers, three tankers and three utility vehicles.
  • The Fire Department trains weekly on Tuesday evenings and strives to have all members certified to the Justice Institute Fire Academy standards. The Fire Department prides itself on its modern equipment and progressive approach to fire prevention and fire suppression
