About Multi-Material BC (MMBC)
Businesses that supply packaging and printed paper to BC residents are now responsible for collecting and managing these materials so they can be recycled. Multi-Material BC (MMBC) is  a non-profit organization financed by these businesses. MMBC is now responsible for residential recycling programs in many areas across BC, either directly or by working with local governments, First Nations, private companies and non-profit organizations.

The City of Salmon Arm and MMBC
Since May 19, 2014, the City of Salmon Arm has administered curbside recycling collection under the MMBC program. Residents saw very few changes to the program, other than the removal/addition of certain items from the program. All monies received from the MMBC program must be rebated to residents. As a result, residents have seen a reduction in their recycling fees.

What happens to my Recycling?
MMBC has produced a 4 minute video presentation of what happens to my Recycling after it is collected from the curbside.
