Flood Management
Sandbags Map - 100 30 St. SEStaying Safe During a Flood
The City of Salmon Arm is committed to the safety of residents and property. The snowpack on the mountains, the water level of Shuswap Lake and the water level of Salmon River are monitored on a regular basis. A Flood Management Action Plan is initiated as water levels approach critical elevations that threaten infrastructure, property and/or personal safety.

Sandbags

Unfilled sandbags are available to the public outside of the main gate at the public works yard at 100 – 30 Street Southeast during spring freshet months. Bags can be obtained from Public Works by request at other times of the year as required for minor flooding events.

Sand for the sandbags is available to the public at the Little Mountain Sports Complex Overflow Parking, located at 250 - 30 Street Southeast. Sand is available during spring freshet and is available while supplies last.
